Newburgh city comptroller steps down after theft arrest

Newburgh's city comptroller resigned Tuesday following his arrest on theft charges.
Newburgh City Comptroller John Aber is accused of pocketing money that he was supposed to be collecting for the city. Aber was arrested and faces charges of grand larceny in the fourth-degree.
Kennedy wouldn't say how much money was allegedly stolen, but did say that it's believed Aber was skimming off the top from cash fees taken in.
Kathryn Mack has been appointed as acting comptroller.
