Doctor and girlfriend arrested in alleged murder plot

Ramapo police have arrested a podiatrist and his girlfriend after they allegedly planned to murder his wife.
Police arrested Dr. Ira Bernstein, 41, and his girlfriend, Kelly Myzner Gribeluk, 36, Monday night and charged them with several counts of conspiracy and solicitation.
Ramapo police say Bernstein and Gribeluk reached out to someone who they thought could help kill Bernstein's wife, but the conspiracy fell through after that person went to police instead.
Police say the couple also planned on beating up two United Healthcare insurance investigators, who reportedly were going to refer potential fraud charges to the Rockland District Attorney's Office.
Bernstein has podiatry offices in Ramapo and Bardonia.
Bernstein and Gribeluk's bail is set at $600,000 each. A judge has also issued an order of protection for Bernstein's wife and the insurance investigators.
The pair is being held in Rockland County Jail.
