Children get out and enjoy first snowfall

While many adults grumbled through clearing snow around their cars and driveways, children hit the slopes to enjoy the first snowfall of the year.

The perfect winter conditions brought dozens of people out to sled the hills at Dunwoodie Golf Course in Yonkers.

Rockwood Hall in Sleepy Hollow is another popular destination for sledding, tubing and snowboarding in the winter.

Health officials say that while they encourage people to enjoy the snow, it is important to use extra caution to remain safe. They say it's critical for kids to dress warmly, wear appropriate boots or footwear and to not walk on roads when trying to get around.
