Nanuet, Nyack well prepared for light snow

After transportation workers spent much of Tuesday preparing for the threat of snow, Nanuet saw just about 20 minutes of steady snowfall.
Workers treated the roadways in advance with a slat-brine mixture, according to officials.
The county put 13 plow trucks on-call Tuesday, but civilian drivers continued to use Route 59 to shop and run other errands.
Bars and restaurants in downtown Nyack reported a boost in business this year due to the unseasonable weather.
Officials say that even if the snow wasn't such a big deal, drivers should still be wary of black ice.
