Sparkill firefighters induct honorary member

The Sparkill volunteer fire department welcomed a new member on Monday.
Four-year-old Brian Domitrovits was inducted as an honorary firefighter. He was diagnosed with a rare disease known as ataxia-telangiectasia, or "A-T."
A-T is a combination of the symptoms of muscular dystrophy, cerebral palsy, immune deficiencies and cancer.
Fewer than 500 children in the United States have the disease, and on average don't live past the age of 20.
The Sparkill firefighters plan to give back to Brian's family and say their firehouse is a safe outlet for the young boy to cherish.
"It's a place to go and enjoy as long as he can," says chief Michael Yannazzone Jr. "For the family, we have a social hall and we'll open that up to him and family for future fundraisers and events."
