A Scarsdale tattoo artist is helping breast cancer survivors feel beautiful again.
Carrie Pataky, owner of Cariangel's Spa, offers tattoos to breast cancer patients who have had reconstruction surgery.
Patients have to wait about three months after the surgery before they get their tattoos. Pataky then spends about an hour and a half recreating their areolas.
"I felt whole again, felt like Lydia again," says breast cancer survivor Lydia Correa. "You take off your clothes and OK, this is me."
In December, Cariangel's will host a monthly "Day of Hope" for survivors to receive a complimentary tattoo procedure.
