Fire breaks out in Hillcrest home

Firefighters battled a house fire in Hillcrest Monday afternoon.

The blaze, which officials say sparked at around 1:30 p.m., had engulfed most of the Union Road house before firefighters arrived.

The home was destroyed, but officials say no one was injured.

Hillcrest firefighters requested aid from the Spring Valley, New City and West Haverstraw fire departments.

Investigators say they are probing the cause of the blaze.
