Teenager struck by bullet in Newburgh

An teenage girl in Orange County is recovering after being struck by a stray bullet as she walked down the street.



Officials say the 13-year-old girl was walking with a friend in the area of Little Monument Street in Newburgh just before midnight on Saturday.



The two saw a car drive by and then heard multiple gunshots. The victim then realized she had been hit in the leg.



The girl was treated at the hospital and is expected to be OK.
