Residents try to keep cool as temps rise

As the temperatures climb into the 90s, people across the Hudson Valley are trying their best to stay cool.
News 12 spoke with residents at a flea market in Yonkers who used umbrellas and hats to keep out of the sun, and carried lots of water.
For people who are avoiding the heat by staying indoors, Con Edison is offering energy-saving tips.
The utility says to set the AC to the highest comfortable temperature because every degree lower drives up the price by 6 percent.
It also recommends keeping shades and blinds closed, because almost 40 percent of unwanted heat comes through the windows.
