Family, friends mourn lifeguard who drowned in NJ

Family and friends are mourning a Yonkers lifeguard who drowned in the waters off the Jersey Shore over the Fourth of July weekend.

Authorities say John Crimmin was in the ocean off of Mantoloking, New Jersey Saturday when he suddenly disappeared from sight.

The 22-year-old was the stepson of Yonkers Schools Superintendent Michael Yazurlo.

The victim, who attended Tuckahoe High School, was a lifeguard at Lake Isle Country Club in Eastchester.

He is survived by his sister, father and mother.

News 12 has learned that the country club is planning something in his honor.
