Ray Rice hosts cookout for children

Former NFL star and New Rochelle native Ray Rice hosted his annual cookout for children in the community Saturday.

He says he hopes the children he helps will learn from his life's lessons and have a chance to succeed on their own.

Rice, 29, lost his reputation, his job and a multimillion-dollar contract when video surfaced showing him hitting his then-fiancee in an elevator. The couple has since married.

Rice says he's staying in shape and hoping for a second shot in the NFL.
