County police on patrol in Mount Kisco

Westchester County troopers are now patrolling the village of Mount Kisco.
Monday is the first day of a new contract that places 24 new county police officers under a five-year contract to serve the people of the village.
They will provide patrolling and detective services, as well as canine and aviation support for the small town, officials say.
The Mount Kisco Police Department and the chief will remain in the village, officials say, but the number of officers will be smaller.
The unification will save Mount Kisco taxpayers an estimated $2.4 million.
