Tomorrow marks 6 months since Edgemont girl went missing

Tomorrow will mark six months since a college student from Westchester went missing while away at school in Indiana.

Lauren Spierer, 20, vanished without a trace after a night of partying with friends back on June 3.

Lauren's parents and Bloomington police say they haven't given up looking for the Edgemont native.

Investigators say they have received more than 2,000 tips, including names of potential suspects, and continue to get more. But there have been no significant developments since the beginning of the case.

Police say part of the problem has been some of Lauren's friends who were with her the night she vanished. Many hired lawyers, and according to police, have been uncooperative.

Events are planned this weekend in Bloomington, Ind. to remind everyone that Lauren has now been missing for 183 days.

Next week, volunteers are putting together an event at New York University called "Safety for Spierer," to teach young women self-defense in a city setting.
