Officials: Woman slashed in face, hands in Melrose

A woman was slashed on her hands and face Saturday morning in Melrose.



EMS says the incident happened at a residential building at 520 E. 156th St. at around 8:45 a.m.



Police released video of the attack captured on recently installed security cameras. In it, the suspect can been seen lunging at the victim with an unknown object.



EMS officials say the 57-year-old woman was taken to Lincoln Hospital and is expected to be OK.



The suspect is believed to be a black male, about 40 years old and 5 feet 8 inches tall.
