Gov. Cuomo blasts driver texting at BX rally

At a campaign stop in the Bronx, Gov. Andrew Cuomo touted his new texting and driving crackdown initiative, which went into effect Saturday.
The governor criticized drivers who text at the wheel for being dangerous.
The new initiative will involve 120-day license suspensions for new or young drivers caught texting on the road, and a second violation could bring a suspension of one year. The governor said that increasing the fines alone did not work in the past.
Cuomo was in New York City all day Saturday. He plans to finish his five-borough tour in Bushwick.
