The damage to the house on Frieda Street in Montgomery is extensive, including broken glass and siding.
The homeowner tells News 12 that she was inside the house with her 86-year-old mother when she felt forceful winds shake the house.
As the women made their way to the basement, a loud boom was heard as a tree fell onto the house.
“The trees were bent toward the window. It was pretty dramatic and I was more concerned about my mom than myself because she’s 86 years old,” says Lidia Bonanno, of Montgomery.
The family is shaken up from the storm, but expected to be OK.
The National Weather Service is assessing the damage to see if the storm caused a tornado.
Crews were out in full force trying to clean up as thousands of people are expected to visit the town for this weekend’s New York Air Show.
