The State Supreme Court is ordering Yonkers Public Schools to rehire Shelly O'Riley as transportation director.

O'Riley was hired as the temporary director of transportation at the start of the 2015/2016 school year after the previous director was convicted and imprisoned for her role in defrauding money from the school district.

At the beginning of the academic year, O'Riley began a review into bus monitors and brought her concerns to the superintendent of schools. She claimed there were safety issues and fraud.

She continued to speak out until she was let go in October 2017.
