State police in Tarrytown are temporarily moving across the Hudson River to West Nyack while the Tappan Zee Bridge is being built.
State troopers began packing up and moving Monday from their old location on South Broadway in Tarrytown. They are now in the old Gannett building on North Route 303 in West Nyack. The New York State Thruway Authority Maintenance team has also moved to West Nyack
"I feel the transition has gone seamless," says State Police Capt. Richard Mazzone. "There's been no interruption in the services to the public on the New York State Thruway."
The Tarrytown location will be torn down sometime next year. A new and improved facility will be built for police to move back into by the time the bridge is completed in 2018.
