State Assemblywoman Ellen Jaffee (D-Suffern) was sworn in for a second term Sunday at a ceremony at Rockland Community College in Suffern.
Jaffee, who is a well-known Democrat in the area, says she will remain committed to the residents of the 95th Assembly District, which includes Orangetown and parts of Ramapo in Rockland County. A large crowd gathered Sunday afternoon to watch as she was sworn in again.
"She has a zest for public service,? state Assemblyman Kenneth Zebrowski (D-New City) says. ?She's in it for the right reasons, truly loves her job and that comes across. When Ellen speaks, everyone in the New York State Assembly listens."
Jaffee says she has an aggressive agenda, with key issues including education funding and property tax relief.
