St. Thomas Aquinas College in Rockland County held a celebration in honor of Earth Day.

The theme of the free event was “invest in our planet.” Reiki master Lisa Lacava contributed to the celebration by teaching attendees about stones.

"The vibration of the crystal will react with your vibration and bring you to a higher vibration,” she said.

College senior Melissa Alifano was also present at the event. As a biology major, she says the message is important to her.

"The Earth we live on, although we inherited it, we still have to maintain it so that future generations have something to call home,” she said.
