Orange County was hit hard late Wednesday afternoon as a squall passed through with heavy snow and whipping winds, causing blizzard-like conditions.

Orange County was hit hard late Wednesday afternoon as a squall passed through with heavy snow and whipping winds, causing blizzard-like conditions.
The squall passed through just before 3 p.m., reducing visibility along 17M in Chester and surrounding areas.
It packed a short burst of treacherous weather, with winds as high as 40 mph for about 15 minutes.
Residents in Dutchess County had just been digging out from Tuesday night’s storm before the squall hit the region.
While the back-to-back storms have passed, arctic-like conditions remain into Thursday,  with wind chill temperatures as low as – 20 degrees.
The temperature is expected to continue to drop, with conditions so cold that exposed skin could experience frostbite in as little as a few minutes.
