Spring Valley Mayor Demeza Delhomme has been released from custody after spending four days in jail on a contempt charge.
Last week, a judge ordered the mayor to make sure all doors in the Kurts Civic Center were open for use as a summer day camp.
When News 12 accompanied the mayor and Trustee Vilair Fonvil on a tour of the civic center, some of the doors were locked and the mayor made no effort to unlock them.
Fonvil and the other trustees had gone to court to force the mayor to comply with their wishes for the village day camp to proceed.
Even though the mayor has been let out of jail, the judge laid down a condition that Delhomme has to stay away from the civic center until the day camp is finished.
Despite the battle over locked doors, about 60 children have signed up for the camp, which is supposed to begin Wednesday.
