The Spring Hill Community Ambulance Corps had a busy weekend providing mutual aid in response to multiple accidents.
Around 2:20 p.m. on Saturday, ambulance crews responded to a two-car crash in Tuxedo. Two patients were promptly transported to a nearby hospital in stable condition.
On Sunday around 9:20 a.m., a crew swiftly responded to the NYS Thruway after receiving a report of a rolled-over motor vehicle accident with one person entrapped and unconscious. The Tallman Volunteer Fire Department and Hillburn Volunteer Fire Department also joined the emergency response. Upon arrival, they discovered that the driver had managed to self-extricate. The patient sustained minor injuries and was transported to a local hospital in stable condition.
A short time later, two ambulances were dispatched to the Palisades Parkway between exit 12-13 southbound. Upon arrival, the crew encountered two unconscious patients heavily entrapped. One of the patients was immediately transported to a hospital in critical condition, while the second patient was airlifted in critical condition to Westchester Medical Center. The victims' ages were reported to be in their 30s and 40s, respectively.
