A Yonkers pool is set to officially reopen after being closed for just over a year.
Westchester County Executive George Latimer held a news conference Wednesday afternoon, confirming people will be able to use the Sprain Ridge Activity Pool starting Friday.
The pool was reopened in 2017 after being closed for several years so renovations could be done. Latimer says the job by the Rob Astorino administration was rushed, forcing him to shut it down last year to make necessary repairs. He says the pool is now up to standards and is safe to be used again. Kids in the area say they can't wait for it open.

"We have a job to deliver basic services to the people of Westchester County. What we can assert today is that we've done our job,” says Latimer.

The county executive also says he hopes the pool will be something kids will be able to enjoy for years to come.
