SPCA: Cat shot by high-powered rifle
The local Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals says someone with a gun targeted a defenseless cat in Ardsley.
SPCA officials say a high-powered air rifle was used to shoot the cat, which is now in need of major surgery.
The cat's owner, Dave McDonough, says his cat was shot on Columbus Day by a pellet that went through several organs in his body.
