Sources have told News 12 Westchester that Werner Lippe, accused of murdering his wife then reporting her missing, cremated Faith Lippe in the couple's backyard.
According to sources, Werner Lippe argued with Faith Lippe on Oct. 3 then allegedly hit her on the head with a fireplace log. They say he placed her body in a burn barrel and cremated her over the next 24 hours. It is not known if she was dead when placed in the barrel.
Police will only confirm that Werner Lippe confessed to the killing.
A county grand jury is expected to take up the Lippe case soon. Werner Lippe has not yet entered a plea, but his attorney Andrew Rubin says he will maintain his innocence.
Lippe is due back in Cortlandt Town Court Nov. 17.
