Residents in Somers voiced their frustrations to the zoning board Tuesday night about a long-standing noise issue.
Anthony Porco, a Yonkers firefighter, says the noise from jackhammering, rock crushing and tub grinding from Whispering Pine Landscape Supply occurs for eight to nine hours a day for most of the year.
Residents say by processing the materials, the landscaping company is committing a code violation. They say that they are bringing this issue to light because it's destroying their quiality of life.
The landscaping company's lawyers say they're entitled to process the material, which is modernizing their business that's been around for decades.
They also say the zoning board might not have the jurisdiction to offer a resolution.
