More New York City-based businesses are said to be taking a closer look at Westchester County as a place to possibly relocate due to the uncertainty brought on by the coronavirus pandemic.
According to the Business Council of Westchester, the first priority of most employers right now is the safety and health of their employees.
"I think businesses are looking at a responsible way to keep their employees safe, get them back into a workplace environment, and possibly avoid the issue of mass transportation, by having them drive to work and open up some satellite offices in Westchester County,” says John Ravitz, of the Westchester Business Council.
Some communities are also taking proactive steps to make themselves more attractive to companies looking to move to Westchester.
Business leaders say right now the availability for commercial space in Westchester is around 18%.
