A female-only screening of the new “Wonder Woman” movie is causing a stir in Yonkers.
Some Westchester residents are upset at the Alamo Drafthouse Cinema's decision to have an upcoming screening of the superhero flick that will only be open to women.
"It's very fashionable right now to be, to not be a male, really in the society," said John Fenninger. "And this kind of stunt gets a lot of publicity."
Others in the area say that the event is about empowering women since Wonder Woman is a feminist icon.
Fenninger says he is filing a complaint with the Division of Human Rights.
A spokesperson for The Alamo sent a message to News 12 that says in part, "We are doing something right."
The women-only screening will be at the Alamo in Yonkers on June 5.
