? The area of Sound Shore is expected to bear the brunt of the snowstorm that hit Northern Westchester, Southern Westchester, Orange and Rockland counties Tuesday morning.
Some schools in the region canceled classes, even though a major snowfall wasn?t expected. In North Salem, School Superintendent Dr. Ken Freeston says he realizes he made a quick call to let students leave earlier, but he says many factors were weighed and he wanted to give advanced warning to working parents who needed to make arrangements.
Though the region only had between 1 and 3 inches of snow, dropping temperatures could make icy conditions an issue for Wednesday morning. Motorists are advised to use caution.
