Police are searching for suspects who held up a jewelry store in Sleepy Hollow and pistol whipped the owner Friday morning.
Investigators say the owner of Wily Jewelry at 160 Cortlandt St. was opening his store around 10:45 a.m. when he was confronted by two men.
According to the owner, both robbers had pulled up their coats to cover the bottom of their faces. One of the men was carrying a gun. The suspects forced the owner into a chair and tied him up. Then, the owner says they struck him on the head with the gun at least three times.
One of the robbers proceeded to open a case and fill it with jewelry. According to the owner, a third suspect was singing and dancing outside of the store to distract passers-by.
The total value of jewelry that the perpetrators made away with has not been disclosed.
The owner says it is possible the suspects were caught on video because they walked by a camera mounted on a building near the jewelry store.
