Shoppers hit Macy's in Yonkers for last-minute gifts
Shoppers were rushing out to the Macy's in Yonkers on Christmas Eve to get last-minute gifts for their families, friends and loved ones.The store has been open since 7 a.m. Friday. The company said it tested the idea last year at a store in Queens and that it was very successful. The Yonkers store is one of eight locations in the area that has kept its doors open.Some shoppers admitted they were at the store overnight because they simply hadn't started their shopping yet. Others said they enjoyed the overnight shopping due to less crowds and the bargains they found.Macy's says it is hoping the extended hours will give a boost to its sales figures for the holidays.
