Police say one man was fatally shot in broad daylight Monday across from a day care center on Ferris Avenue. Residents are outraged the shooting took place so close to the children?s facility. Police say they received an anonymous call just before 4 p.m. about a man with a gun on the street. When they arrived, the man was gone but they found another man with a gunshot wound bleeding on the street. He was transported to Westchester Medical Center, where officials say he later died from his injuries. Police say witnesses at the scene were able to describe a suspicious vehicle. Police arrested a man driving a green sedan on the Bronx River Parkway and confiscated a handgun from the car. The man remains in police custody. The victim's identity is being withheld pending family notification.
