Sentencing delayed in Yonkers for two-time convicted sex offender
The sentencing of a two-time convicted sex offender was postponed again Tuesday in Yonkers.
Eddie Cordero was convicted of kidnapping a 12-year-old girl from a Yonkers bus stop and raping her in the woods. Cordero was also convicted in 1998 of another sexual assault. He had served three years in prison for that crime, but claims he does not remember the specifics surrounding the incident. The judge was supposed to conduct a hearing and get those facts on the record once again.
However, the hearing couldn?t take place because the District Attorney's office didn't have a certificate of conviction. Now, that hearing is schedule to take place January 26. After that, the judge can move forward with sentencing.
