Dozens of senior citizens sharpened their skills at a special informational seminar at the Church of Ascension in Mount Vernon.

The event gave seniors a chance to meet with key officials in the health, wellness and estate planning fields.

"It's not just about taxes, but it's about giving them the information they need," said Maureen Walker, Mount Vernon Comptroller. "This is a wonderful event for me to be here with them."

Officials said the event has been going on for two decades.
