Sen. James Skoufis will soon co-chair several hearings into the state’s COVID-19 response.
Those hearings begin in Albany later this month and continue through the end of August.
Legislators will review the state’s response and hear witness testimony on a range of issues pertaining to hospitals, nursing homes, unemployment and elections.
Sen. Skoufis says the hope is to uncover what went right and what went wrong to better prepare for the future.
“Make no mistake, whether it’s a second wave of COVID-19 or some other virus, or other health emergency – there will be a next time. We need to figure out what failed, what was successful and how do we position ourselves," he says.
Skoufis is one of several lawmakers who will oversee a total of eight hearings.
