A spokesperson confirms state Sen. James Skoufis has tested positive for coronavirus and is "increasingly symptomatic."
News 12 is told the politician is currently in recovery at home after beginning to feel symptoms on Tuesday. He then immediately isolated himself.
In a statement, the senator's Director of Communications Jess Gullotta says, “Skoufis and his wife, Hillary, urge constituents to continue treating the public health emergency with seriousness and precaution.”
The rest of the lawmaker's staff is healthy and is continuing to work around the clock helping others through the pandemic.
Skoufis’ office urges civilians to reach out for resources or help, saying in part, “We are all in this together.”
