Sen. James Skoufis announced $50,000 in funding has been secured to strengthen animal welfare in Orange County.
The new funds will go toward Pets Alive, a no-kill animal rescue center in Middletown.
The money will cover expenses to replace the 50-year-old kennel in its new facility that's currently under construction.
