A Yonkers man is in jail today after he was arrested in connection with a stabbing last weekend in Yonkers that sent two men to the hospital.
According to Yonkers police, two men, ages 23 and 19, were found early Sunday morning on the street with multiple stab wounds to their bodies and faces. They say the two victims had an argument with three men that led to the attack.
A 14-year-old boy was arrested later that same day and charged with first-degree assault. Yahya Alsaidi, 23, of Yonkers, was arrested a day after the attack and charged with first- and second-degree assault.
Investigators are still hunting for a third man believed to be involved.
The stabbing happened less than 48 hours after three people, including a 9-year-old, girl were shot at a pizzeria in the same neighborhood. Officials from the mayor's office and police department promised swift action and to step up police presence to deter violent behavior.
