A Westchester school bus driver was arrested for allegedly having sexual contact with a minor.
County police say 22-year-old Brayan Arias, who worked for the Bedford Central School District, allegedly sent an explicit text message and images to an 11-year-old girl.
Arias was arrested in Downtown Mount Kisco after police say they learned that he was allegedly planning to meet the girl in a parking lot Friday night for sexual contact. Police say the girl was not present when he was apprehended.
Arias, who drove a bus for Fox Lane Middle School in Bedford, has been charged with sexual abuse in the first degree and disseminating indecent material to a minor. He was being held the Westchester County Jail on $40,000 bail.
Arias is due back in court later this week.
Superintendent Christopher Manno said in a statement, "The safety and well-being of all our students are of the utmost importance to our district. The district and the bus company are cooperating with police on the investigation. Since this is an active police investigation, there is no additional information we can provide."
