‘Safe schools, Safe City Symposium’ focuses on potential shooter warning signs
Parents, students and teachers attended the “Safe Schools, Safe City Symposium” at the Lincoln High School in Yonkers Saturday
The PTA teamed up with the Sandy Hook Promise organization in order to highlight school safety and raise awareness in the community.

Sandy Hook Promise was founded by several family members who lost loved ones at the Sandy Hook Elementary School Shooting on Dec.14, 2012.
The Yonkers Council of the PTA's and Sandy Hook Promise say they want students to know the signs of a potential school shooting.

“It's important that we train our personnel and our kids the best we can as to what their options are and what they can do and what they have to,” said Mayor Mike Spano.
Mayor Spano says they have had active shooter seminars and training with the teachers.
