The warm temperatures gave residents a preview of the upcoming Memorial Day weekend at Rye Playland.

Even though the beach at Playland doesn't officially open until Saturday, there were still people there enjoying the sun, sand and boardwalk. The amusement park opened in early May. However, it was the draw of the Long Island Sound that brought people to Rye Thursday.

Crews were on the beach getting it ready for the long holiday weekend. That didn?t stop many beachgoers, some who were even brave enough to take a dip in the water.
