A Rockland teacher is spreading some holiday cheer this season dressed as an Elf on the Shelf.

Karen Tran is a kindergarten teacher at Theills Elementary School. 

This is her second year dressing up as Santa’s popular sidekick at school during the last week before winter break. 

Tran has appeared as the life-sized elf in a tree, car and even on the roof! 

“This year, it’s the entire week I’m doing it. It’s a lot of fun,” said Tran. “The parents are into it. They’re waiving and beeping their horns, the bus drivers. It’s great and today - I even get requests!” 

Tran says she plans to continue dressing up as an elf each holiday season and even come back to surprise kids in costume a few years from now when she retires!
