Helping Hands for the Homeless of Rockland is helping the homeless population stay safe and cool during the heat wave.
Anna Kobelka of Helping Hands says that many homeless people are not able to find refuge to cool off like in years past due to COVID-19.
The organization is encouraging them to stay hydrated during their programs by passing out extra water. In addition, they are teaching homeless people to recognize signs of heat exhaustion.
With this heat, Helping Hands asks people who see a homeless person to give them a helping hand by giving them something to drink and stay cool.
