Three people and five corporations have pleaded guilty to tax fraud after several busts at smoke shops in Rockland County last March, according to prosecutors.
Authorities say $415,000 in U.S. currency, and 405 pounds of cannabis were seized during a multi-agency investigation following complaints from residents of illegal activity.
The individuals and corporations involved are listed by the Rockland County District Attorney’s Office as:
- Ibrahim Alfalahi, 36, of Nanuet, NY
- Abdo Alquhshi, 44, of Nyack, NY
- Sadek Alfalahi, 29, of Nanuet, NY
- Zava Lafayette Convenience Corp., 28 Lafayette Ave., Suffern, NY
- Zava Candy Inc., 214 Smith Rd., Nanuet, NY
- Zava Flow Inc., 38-40 N. Middletown Rd., Nanuet, NY
- Zava Central Convenience Corp., 46 E. Central Ave., Pearl River, NY
- Zava Smoke, Inc., aka Zava Convenient Store Inc., Pearl River, NY
The defendants are scheduled to be sentenced on Oct. 17.
