3 people, 5 Rockland corporations plead guilty following smoke shop tax fraud probe
Three people and five corporations have pleaded guilty to tax fraud after several busts at smoke shops in Rockland County last March, according to prosecutors.
Authorities say $415,000 in U.S. currency, and 405 pounds of cannabis were seized during a multi-agency investigation following complaints from residents of illegal activity.
The individuals and corporations involved are listed by the Rockland County District Attorney’s Office as:
  • Ibrahim Alfalahi, 36, of Nanuet, NY
  • Abdo Alquhshi, 44, of Nyack, NY
  • Sadek Alfalahi, 29, of Nanuet, NY
  • Zava Lafayette Convenience Corp., 28 Lafayette Ave., Suffern, NY
  • Zava Candy Inc., 214 Smith Rd., Nanuet, NY
  • Zava Flow Inc., 38-40 N. Middletown Rd., Nanuet, NY
  • Zava Central Convenience Corp., 46 E. Central Ave., Pearl River, NY
  • Zava Smoke, Inc., aka Zava Convenient Store Inc., Pearl River, NY
The defendants are scheduled to be sentenced on Oct. 17.
