Clarkstown officials honored former soldiers by serving them a hearty breakfast.
The annual event was held in New City, and included a ceremony packed with elementary school students and a notable guest speaker.
The 93-year old speaker was Alan Moskin, a Nanuet resident and World War II veteran.
He told News 12 he witnessed horrible things liberating concentration camps during the war. He vows to make sure today’s youth never forgets.
“I tell these kids the truth about what World War II was all about and how history repeats itself. And they gotta make sure it never happens again. That's why I speak and that's why I'll continue to speak as long as God gives me the strength,” says Moskin.
Moskin was among other World War II veterans present at today’s ceremony.
