News 12 was sent a tip about possible illegal apartments in the basement of 14 South Main St., near El Diamante Bar and Restaurant.
The Office of Buildings and Codes says it can't confirm yet whether it's an illegally occupied space, but it is looking into it.
The landlord told News 12 tenants will no longer be living there.
The top floor of the building houses the county Women's Health Office.
