Rockland County: Landlord who owned Spring Valley property at center of deadly fire issued violations

According to the Rockland County government, a two-week investigation found a significant number of New York state Fire Prevention and Building Code violations at multiple properties.

Hundreds of violations are being issued to a Spring Valley landlord who owned the property where five people died in a fire earlier this month.
The fire occurred at 118 Lake St. and killed two children under the age of 18.
According to the Rockland County government, a two-week investigation found a significant number of New York state Fire Prevention and Building Code violations at multiple properties.
Officials say fines are still being processed, but the violations included electrical issues, as well as missing smoke and carbon monoxide detectors.
