The son of Westchester County Executive Rob Astorino is featured in a video directly referencing his dad's opponent in the New York state gubernatorial race.
Astorino's 11-year-old son Sean says he has major beef with incumbent Democrat Gov. Andrew Cuomo. Sean doesn't like what he calls a smear campaign against his dad.
He also says the governor's campaign digitally erased him out of a father and son photograph, and then used the edited picture in an attack against Astorino.
News 12 showed the ad to voters. Some said it was nice of the county executive's son to stand up for his dad, while others feel children should be kept out of the nastiness of campaigning.
The Eerie County Democrats who put out the edited Astorino picture defended the removal of Sean's image, saying according to election law, it is illegal to use a minor's picture without permission from a parent.
Democratic County Legislator Catherine Borgia says Astorino should keep his kids out of the spotlight and respond immediately to a request to make his timesheets available to the public.
Borgia alleges that Astorino has spent too much time on the campaign trail and working two outside consulting jobs, something the Astorino camp vehemently denies.
