The Ritz-Carlton is getting a major makeover in White Plains.
The hotel is using the pandemic as a time to revamp its image and is starting major renovations in just a number of months.
Marsha Gordon, with the Westchester Business Council, says it's time "...for a little refreshing...which is going to attract visitors, tourists, business travel, young people, boomers."
The hotel will feature a new, hip, contemporary bar, lounge and coffee bar. All 146 hotel rooms will be redone. The multimillion-dollar project also includes a gym, spa and pool.

Public spaces in the north and south tower, where there are long-term residences, will be revamped as well.
Gordon says now is the perfect time for a businesses to invest.
"To be thinking about new ways of conducting business, new ways to be attracting customers that are relevant for the time we're in," she says.
The hotel will be closed for approximately five months during renovations.
Employees will be temporarily laid off until they're slated to reopen in early in 2021 - as part of Marriott International's Autograph Collection brand.
The two residential towers will remain Ritz-Carlton properties.
